The first thing that you should be wearing on your white water rafting trip is a helmet. This is something that some people do not like to do because they think it will take away from the experience. However, it is important to wear nonetheless, because if the raft comes across particularly rough water, and hits some rocks, you must make sure that your head is protected.

Next, be sure that you are wearing the proper clothing. The clothing should ideally be a t-shirt and a pair of shorts. Avoid wearing heavier clothing such as a sweatshirt or a pair of jeans, because if you do and they get wet, in addition to sweating, you will be all the more uncomfortable.

Of course, the most important safety apparel that you should wear is a lifejacket. Again, this is something that some people would rather not wear because they can be rather bulky. However, even the most experienced white water rafters have fallen off of their rafts at one point, and that is why those lifejackets are so necessary.
