Unless you go white water rafting often, you probably want to rent the equipment. Of course, if you go every summer or at least once or twice a year, maybe buying the equipment is for you after all. However, if you have the experience required to man the raft yourself without the use of a guide then all you need is the equipment. Whether you buy or rent, you will need life vests, rope, the raft and oars of course. There is more equipment available to you but the essentials are the ones that will protect you in case anything goes wrong.
